PREPREG

Prepregs are reinforcing fibres that have already been pre-impregnated with resin. Fabric prepregs are the most common, however, tapes, unidirectional and multiaxial Non-crimp fabrics can also be pre-impregnated.
The resin matrix used primarily consists of modified epoxy and phenolic resins that do not flow at room temperature.
The prepreg is placed in the mould at room temperature and cured under pressure and temperature. When heated, the resin liquefies for a brief time and saturates the fibres before it begins to cure.
